Source: www.syffal.com/fin-once-in-a-life-time-talking-heads fiN - Once In A Life TimeOnce In A Life Time was one of those songs that always worked, it didn't matter what clique you were part of, what sub-genre you claimed or what race, color or creed. There was a universal appeal to it, and it helped make The Talking Heads something more than their contemporaries, something timeless and limitless; during this brief moment they were the pinnacle, the embodiment of all rock music could be. I cant help but feel a sort of kinship between The Talking Heads and limey rockers fiN. Not to say they sound similar or are even coming from the same place creatively, but fiN has a universal quality about them. They make the kind of rock music that can be appreciated by all because it is bigger than the definitions and ghettos of genre fucking that we do so much as a culture. I have yet to hear a track from fiN that I don't absolutely cream for, and I am horribly proud to have them be the first act I snagged for PCC. Also, these fuckers did a video! PS. This is from the movie Stop Making Sense. HAPPY JOEL?? A Word From fiNWhile recording our album in a disused shelving factory in Wadsworth, London, we listened to loads of old records for inspiration. We must have played 'Once in a lifetime' a thousand times. There where countless conversations about covering it so when Tim asked for a track we knew what it had to be. Talking Heads are a band that we've taken influence from in so many ways. We hope we've done the song justice!
